Dedicated to the Highest Standards
We are dedicated to the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental practices.
Our customers and neighboring communities can be assured that we have established robust environment, health, and safety (EHS) programs and that we continue to reduce the environmental impact of our facilities and products. At our manufacturing locations, we have institutionalized processes to increase process efficiency, reduce waste and save energy.
The global framework for our EHS activities is our EHS Management System, which has been audited and certified by a third-party registrar to comply with the requirements of the American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care® initiative, the gold standard for the industry.
Certain Grace plants in the United States, Sweden, and Germany are certified to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001, or to the Responsible Care® initiative. Certification involves the identification of a plant's environmental impacts and establishment of targets for continuous improvement. Additional sites are undergoing the certification process.
Grace's commitment to the highest EHS standards as well as all applicable laws is codified in company policies. While every employee is responsible for safe behavior, Grace provides a safe and healthful workplace and ensures that safety and environmental priorities are incorporated in the planning and daily execution of the company's business.
lead with safety
At Grace, the safety and health of our employees are among our most critical concerns. Our main goal is to have everyone work, think, and be safe. We believe that safety is more than a priority; it must come first in everything we do and every decision we make. This is what it means to Lead with Safety.
Lead with Safety Philosophy
- All Grace employees, contractors, and suppliers make a personal commitment to working safely.
- We take ownership of our actions to drive our culture of safety, ethics, and core values.
- We speak up when we observe unsafe behaviors or conditions.
- We are all responsible for recognizing risks and doing something about them.
- Crucial conversations lead to safe workplaces.
- Safety is not an action but a mindset.
Through our commitment to a safe and healthful workplace, we consistently achieve injury rates well below average for the chemical industry.
Cases and rates are determined according to U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration criteria.
