Resid Hydrotreating Solutions

Residue hydrotreating solutions from ART provide contaminant removal essential for catalyst activity and downstream RFCC profitability and maximum desulfurization activity for low and ultra-low sulfur transportation fuel specifications.

Fixed Bed Resid (FBR) for bottoms upgrading and sulfur reduction uses our ICR®, HOP®, UFR® and OCR® catalysts series.

ICR® and HOP® Catalyst Systems

Fixed bed resid catalysts enable precise tailoring and design of catalyst systems for all residuum desulfurization applications. Superior catalyst and optimized system design helps refiners achieve multiple objectives including high sulfur desulfurization activity, HDN, HDMCR, metals removal and high metals tolerance suitable for challenging operations. ART’s ICR® catalyst systems for FBR applications are commercially proven to yield performance improvements as more stringent product specifications are introduced and increase run length and feed rate. 

ART FBR catalyst systems generate higher quality products for production of low sulfur fuel oil for bunker fuel, resid RFCC feed and coker feed applications. As a result, refiners increase profitability by processing low value, heavier crudes at higher throughput.

UFR® and OCR® Catalyst Systems

ART’s On-Stream Catalyst Replacement Systems consists of the UP FLOW REACTOR UFR® and ON-STREAM CATALYST REPLACEMENT (OCR®) technologies. 

The UFR® catalyst system for metals removal uses ICR® catalysts to support upflow reactors, without onstream catalyst replacement, enabling refiners to very economically increase capacity of their downstream unit without significantly increasing reactor pressure drop.

The OCR® catalyst system is for metals removal using ART’s ICR® and RD series technologies. ART’s OCR® catalyst system is based on countercurrent moving-bed technology that replaces catalyst onstream. The OCR® catalyst system removes metals from feeds for downstream reactors enabling them to process heavier feeds and/or achieve deeper desulfurization.
